Me and my buddy Tazzz had a game yesterday evening. We tried out my attempt at making a balanced tournament scenario, I played the rats and he went for Dwarves. Enemies for many years, this should prove a good fight!
I went for something a bit more balanced this time, not opting for my “big stuff” list but instead trying a more ratty approach.

Finished my Bloodcrushers, well almost – bases aren’t quite done yet, and I’m not sure how to them yet, other than throwing sand and small stones on them.

I’ve been thinking about what a decent tournament scenario could look like for Fantasy.
I’ve played most of the scenarios in the BRB (not the historical ones though) and found most of them adequate, but except for the one with the Watchtower the objectives concern mostly killing the opponent. Fair enough, this goes well hand-in-hand with the new 8e rules, but still, I like to have some kind of board-control objectives in my missions, me being well-fed with scenarios in WM/Hordes.

Back on the 5th, I promised to deliver a Rat Ogre-based Skaven list.
Basic premise is the same as that post, stuff the list with big stuff.
So, Warlords are in, on Bonebreakers. They need some kitting out, but that’s really up to oneself to figure out. I like giving my Warlords more Strength, since the standard 4 is kinda low.
So, about 450-500 points spend there.
Both of these need some Rat Ogre units to be in, so two of those, preferably with Master Moulders, Master-bred Ogres and one of them, of course, with Skweel Gnawtooth.
That comes in at around 800 points.
Next up, we should cram in some Abominations – two of those. Read more…
Ah, title is still partially in French – what gives? Ah yes, of course, all those Hell Dorado models have an impact somewhere…guess I sold my soul to the French.
Joke aside, yesterday I looked at the 2500 pt list I plan to get first for the Daemons. Now, I’m gonna try an approach which has been experimented with since time began, the old ‘I’ll buy something and paint it before buying something again’. This smaller list should be playable, and be of about 500 pt value.
Yeah, laugh away, it never works, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be attempted at least.
So, here I am, wondering how my already made purchases fits into the list… Read more…
Bleh, no French here – I can probably figure out what ingredients and dishes are in French, and could probably spend a vacation in France without too much trouble. But write my blog in it? Get outta here.
That sorted out, it’s back at the Daemons again. I dropped by the local store today, and accidentally bought a box of the new Horrors, a box of three Flamers and the Battle Magic cards. And I don’t think it would be strange if Kairos somehow found his way into my hands around the 21st of August, along with some Bloodcrushers…
Anyway, I was going to look at some lists. I figured going by instinct and learning as I went along to be the better way… Read more…
…and I answer!
The new plastic minis from GW really is some of the best looking stuff I’ve seen from their hands since…the Screaming Bell/Plague Furnace kit. And possible the Sanguinary Guard…
Anyway, I’ve cut my hand, spilled my blood, paid my dues and sold my soul to the masters of the Void, and now I’m about ready to start thinking about what a Daemon Army could look like in 8e Fantasy. And possible Warriors of Chaos as well…
Well, as with any of my projects, I start out by looking at the minis, and then try to work from there on. This project is not going to be an exception to this, so I started by looking a possibilities…

Next week there’s a small gathering of gamers in Underværket in Randers. Underværket is known as a venue for markets and cultural activities, I have once attended a concert there, for instance.
I don’t know if we have the main hallway available to us, but here’s a picture of what it looks like on the inside Read more…
So, I had an idea of something not-so-ratty…well, I could imagine some devious Grey Seer actually thinking this up, so I guess it’s ok to assume that the Skaven might even field this.
Well, the basic idea was to have big things in the list, ie. the Bell, Furnaces, Abominations, Doomwheels, and of course huge units.
Basic premise: The bigger, the better. And of course, it must be legal by 8e standards, and last but not least, be playable in a not-entirely-gimped way.
First off, I looked at which options was available in each of the five segments which could be considered ‘big’.
For Lords, that’s the Vermin Lord, the Grey Seer on Screaming Bell and a Warlord on Bonebreaker. Of the three, I quickly dismissed the two ‘smaller’ beasts for the Screaming Bell – bigger miniatures are few and far between in the game of Warhammer.

Last night I tried my first real games of Malifaux.
First game I went up against Hjelmen’s Sonya Criid-box, using my Pandora box.
Game was brutal, he more or less just shot my Sorrows I had linked to Candy, Kade and Pandora. In a last-ditch suicide attempt, Candy made the good Sonya hit herself with Self-Loathing. I flipped the Red Joker for the damage flip, adding a second card to the damage, which came up another Severe. Sonya died from the 10 damage.
