[/caption]I fought my first game with the good lady last night, a 50-pointer against the Rhyas of the Legion. I wasn't exactly fair against my opponent, since I had prepared my list from home, and we just decided to play at the club after I got there.
In any case, he threw together an army, and I used my eMakeda list which has been posted elsewhere already.
He decided to go for Rhyas, and just in general to play on Massacre, her feat and Berserking. At least, I think that was the idea... Here's his list:
Legion of Everblight 50+6 points, 28 models
Rhyas, Sigil of Everblight +6 points * Angelius 9 points * 2x Nephilim Soldier 5 points each * Seraph 8 points * Shredder 2 points
10 Blighted Swordsmen 8 points 2x Shepherd 1 point each Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew 1 point The Forsaken 2 points 2x Warmonger War Chief 3 points each 5 Warmongers 8 points
We rolled for SR2010 scenario, and came up with Destruction. I wasn't really gonna go for the scenario in any case, I was looking to try out Molik with eMakeda and see how that fared.
I set up first, had a small forest on my left side, and a tower of some kind on my right. The middel of the field was fairly open, there was a few linear obstacles here and there. I acted first, and just ran upfield, casting Leash on Molik. I forgot to cast Road to War, but I guess I need to do that in order to move up faster.
He then moved up, nothing serious going on.
I activated again, but just moved my stuff into position, trying to bait his swordsmen to charge mine. At that point I realised that he could wipe half the unit of my Swordsmen with the Seraph, and afterwards with a few uses of Massacre could wipe them completely with just his Swordsmen. He failed a bit of his charges, miscalculating the charge range of his stuff, but did manage to kill three Reivers and five or six of the swordsmen. He had also feated, and had moved Rhyas up the middle for his swordsmen to be in range for his feat. He screened her with one Warmonger in the front, about 2,5" from Molik Karn, and two other guys on either side - although with plenty space in-between for a large base...
Next turn, I had vengeance, which didn't do anything for me. Then, I activated my Shaman, shot the Warmonger in front of Molik unboosted, and rolled a 12 to kill him boosted. I cast Rush on Molik, who was then whipped to Enrage by a Beasthandler, and finally Makeda did Road to War, Leash'ed Molik and moved upfield a bit, to use Leash. Then, she feated, and Molik charged headfirst into Rhyas.
She had Tenacity going, so I needed 10's to hit. I hit on the charge attack, didn't use combo strike, and did 33 damage to her, which was transferred with her one fury from last round. His other initial attack hit as well, and did 14 damage to her. Last, I bought an attack, and hit again. I had four other attacks coming her way, so odds were on my side, I think.
In any case, everything worked out perfectly. I baited him into charging and going aggressively against my up-front shield of swordsmen, although I thought he'd have killed more of them.
Molik Karn is a beast. Although, I wonder how good a Beat-back enabled Bronzeback under her feat can perform...
I seriously need more time at the table. I guess I should maximize this by playing against myself once in a while...
Hesse > Some thoughts on Necron Comp for S3
Great news! I finally got around to play the new Necrons a bit, and what can I say - I'm very satisfied! It's great to have my hands on an army that can shoot pretty decently, have a nice durability and really appeals to me.
Hesse > First Necron list + battle report
I have, through some rather shady canals, gotten hold of the new Necron Codex - no more rumour mongering for me, just the bare truth from the author himself!
Michael Boserup Hesselberg > Necrons confirmed with a teaser
GW put out one of their daily updates, concerning Dark Eldars, Polish Tomb Kings and...something else. It looks like the Necrons actually got a teaser trailer.
