The Void Beckons...

...and I answer!

The new plastic minis from GW really is some of the best looking stuff I've seen from their hands since...the Screaming Bell/Plague Furnace kit. And possible the Sanguinary Guard...

Anyway, I've cut my hand, spilled my blood, paid my dues and sold my soul to the masters of the Void, and now I'm about ready to start thinking about what a Daemon Army could look like in 8e Fantasy. And possible Warriors of Chaos as well...

Well, as with any of my projects, I start out by looking at the minis, and then try to work from there on. This project is not going to be an exception to this, so I started by looking a possibilities... The new Kairos is a great looking mini, and will serve well as a Lord of Change:

Next, we need some Heralds as well - Forgeworld has one that can serve as a Khorne Herald, and also a Nurgle one. However both requires you to purchase a Daemon Prince to go along, and I'm not really sure I'm quite there yet where I want those. Instead, I've been looking at alternate models, in particular the abandoned and presumably resurrected line from Asmodee, called Hell Dorado.

Here's a couple of minis that can serve fine in this context - first, Euronyme, who could go for a Nurgle or Slaanesh:

And here's the Demon of Anger, who of course could go for a Khorne:

And then there's a couple of angelic creatures, what can work as Tzeentch heralds - Samael on the right in first picture, Asaliah in next image:

And finally, there's also a hunger demon, which could work as Nurgle:

Besides these, there's the basic stuff that GW has released. Of the new sets, I'm particularly in love with the Bloodletters, the Horrors and the Bloodcrushers, as well as the old Flamers of Tzeentch.

Looks like a combo-Tzeentch and Khorne list for me ;)

Now, how to go about a Warriors of Chaos list using the same models?

Well, for one they can have Daemon Princes, however these really need wings to work out - none of them has that. None of the Tzeentch I linked wear armor, so they're not really into the whole WYSIWYG thing. I love Chaos Warriors and Chaos Knights, so those go in. Since I was already looking into the new studio producing Hell Dorado, I found this new guy from Cipher:

He's perfect for a Priest of Sigmar turned Chaos - and that's what he's gonna be! I think a Khorne list will be the right way for me to go in the Warrior list, since I'm absolutely in love with the Chaos Lord on Juggernaut model.

Now, to work out the lists...

Hesse > Some thoughts on Necron Comp for S3

Great news! I finally got around to play the new Necrons a bit, and what can I say - I'm very satisfied! It's great to have my hands on an army that can shoot pretty decently, have a nice durability and really appeals to me.

Hesse > First Necron list + battle report

I have, through some rather shady canals, gotten hold of the new Necron Codex - no more rumour mongering for me, just the bare truth from the author himself!

Michael Boserup Hesselberg > Necrons confirmed with a teaser

GW put out one of their daily updates, concerning Dark Eldars, Polish Tomb Kings and...something else. It looks like the Necrons actually got a teaser trailer.
