So it seems that we're starting a Blood in the Badlands campaign in Frob! Hooray!
One of our ideas was to use the Might Empires-set for handling the army movement in the Badlands, and to give each player three armies - each to be led by a different Lord.
Some factions only have two types of Lords accessible, so of course they can duplicate on of these - maybe with different builds...
Anyway, I'm playing Vampire Counts, the new Armybook, so I'm kinda already set for my three lords since we don't use Special Characters.
One with a Master Necromancer, one with a Vampire Lord and one with a Strigoi Ghoul King.
So, the real trick is - how do I make a base army that I can get set up and painted that can perform semi-well with any type of Lord?
So, assuming we're playing 2000 point games (which is the current plan), the 500 point requirement in Core choices is pretty much set in stone for me:
27 Skeletons /w spears, full command and the Screaming Banner.
20 Zombies /w musician
10 Dire Wolves
10 Crypt Ghouls
Should equal 500 points straight - no reason to spend more in this segment. I might change the Screaming Banner to something else, e.g. the Flaming Attacks banner - that would require a few more Skeletons to make the 500 point mark.
So, what else?
The Terrorgheist is nice, and would fit in great with everything else - however, I'm not really too keen on it, I don't know why. I like the Mortis Engine however, and I see no reason not to bring this in any army, with the Blasphemous Tome upgrade - make your level 2 wizards cast spells like a level 4, sure thanks!
And, for special choices, I'm a bit torn between what to include - I really love the new Crypt Horrors and Vargheists, and I've decided to switch a bit around between them. For now, I have bought two boxes and put together four Vargheists - if I got another box, I could make a unit of 3-5 Crypt Horrors if needed at a later stage.
Also, the Corpse Cart is a must - I only want one, with the Balefire upgrade...but maybe, one day, I'll get one more.
Black Knights, meh, nice and all, but I'd rather have Blood Knights if I'm going to include cavalry. Hexwraiths on the other hand will definetely find their way into a list at one point.
Spirit Hosts and Bat Swarms are nice, in with them as well. Oh, and I love the Grave Guard - in they go, a small, wide unit for punching everything to pieces, Great Weapons included.
So...in reality, I only have about 7-900 points left, for a Lord and some supporting heroes.
More coming up later with actual lists...

Hesse > Dark Angels
In great anticipation for the now-often rumoured new Dark Angels Codex, I decided to pick up a couple of Dark Angels sets from the Dark Vengeance starter kit.
I already had some old Imperial and Crimson Fists lying around, pretty much just leftover scraps from when I sold the army, so I already have a sizable force for a pretty low investment.
Hesse > Campaign in my local gaming club
I decided to start a new campaign to celebrate and play some of the new 40K 6th edition goodness.
